What is the New Canaan Community Foundation?
Since its founding in 1977, the New Canaan Community Foundation at 111 Cherry Street (203-966-0231), has made more than $7 million in grants to local, nonprofit organizations and scholarships to New Canaan residents. NCCF partners with donors and provides a way for all residents of New Canaan to make a charitable impact by supporting causes that are important to them and to our community. Donors make contributions directly to funds managed by the foundation. Board members and New Canaan volunteers review the grant requests received each year and after a thorough process, make grant allocations to address the critical needs of the community and support health and human service programs. Donors may also elect to establish their own grant-making fund to actively engage in improving the quality of life of others through philanthropy.
