New Canaan’s real estate sales volume is the highest it’s been since the recession began, although it has not yet reached pre-recession levels, according to the New Canaan Advertiser in February 2011.

In 2011, there were 281 sales of residential, land and condominium properties, compared to 261 in 2010, 194 in 2009, 241 in 2008, and 393 in 2007.

The median price of condos was also up 12% in 2011; $657,000 compared to 2010’s price of $595,000. The average price for condos rose from $656,000 to $711,000, an 8.2% increase.
